Renegades: by Marissa Meyer
When she was little, Nova watched her family die. No one came to save them, not even a Renegade. Her uncle, Ace Anarchy, head of the Anarchists villains, came to get Nova and raise her. Now that Nova is older she wants to take down the Renegades headquarters and every prodigy in there. Nova is a villain now, a villain known as Nightmare. As the son of two Renegade council members, Adrian has a love for justice in the world, taking risks, and getting rid of the villains. Adrian has an alias of Sketch, which came from his ability, and he is also known as the Sentinel, a vigilante in the city of Gatlon. Nova goes undercover in the Renegades headquarters and ends up in Adrians team. Is something going to happen between Nova and Adrian? Will they find out each other’s real identities?
I like the fact that Nova is smart, does not care what anyone else thinks, and doesn’t rely on anyone but herself. Nova and Adrain’s relationship and the action kept me reeled in and makes me want to find out what happens next. This book will not only keep you interested, it will make you want to laugh and get in on the action. It almost feels like I am a part of Nova and Adrian’s journey.
I guess what I did not like about the book is that there are some parts where it does lose me a little bit and that Adrian and Nova would just actually get together and not just do whatever it is they do in this book. It does stink that the book ends on a cliffhanger but if you keep reading the second and third books it makes more sense.
I would suggest this book to anyone who likes action, romance, and a little bit of a backstory. I would probably rate this book a seven out of ten.
