The Odyssey by Homer is an epic poem about the hero Odysseus and the Greek mythical gods. It is the tale of how Odysseus made his way home after the Trojan War, as well as how he dealt with the invaders of his home. It is an enjoyable read if you have some knowledge of olden-style language. It is a challenging book if you do not have an extensive vocabulary, but otherwise a very worthy book. It is by the world-renowned author Homer Jay Simpson, also known for The Iliad. The Odyssey by Homer is also on the list of books you should read before you go to college. It has many fighting scenes, yet still finds ways to inspire you without violence. Some faculty recommend this book, which they say is a good teaching book.
